Pat Laseter Ministries was birthed out of a lifetime of prayer, fasting, and studying the word of God. Dr. Pat learned from a young girl, that in order for some prayers to be answered fasting had to be combined with them. As an adult, she realized those words she read in the Bible could be made into prayers that would move the hands of God.
One day it dawned on her that she could remember being sick all of her life and had done nothing to cause such afflictions to come on her. She believed that she was under a generational curse. She did not know much about curses, but at the rate things were going she knew she had to be cursed. She knew that this type of pain and suffering was not normal.
As a small child and most of her early adult life she was a sickly person. She did what most people do, she learned to live and adjust her life and schedule around her sickness. It was a known fact that at a certain time she would be sick. This went on for years.
Dr. Pat came to the conclusion that the only way to find the truth was to go to God and ask Him. She questioned God during one of her times of sickness, and He confirmed what she already knew deep down in her spirit. After finding out the truth, she was then faced with what to do about it.
Dr. Pat remembered as a little girl, she read about Jesus in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the New Testament. He went about healing the sick, casting out demons, and raising the dead. Not only that, he trained His disciples to do the same. Her thoughts were, if He did all of that in the Bible and gave the Christians the same power and authority, then why should she continue to suffer.
It’s Time to Get Off the Fence
 Dr. Pat was raised as a Christian, and as a little girl she always had a hunger and a thirst for the things of God. Even though she was raised in church, her commitment to God was not as it should have been. Like numerous other Christians, she had one foot in the church and the other out the door, better known as straddling the fence.
She candidly shares, “Like so many people, when I was a young woman I decided to do my own thing, but never completely left the church.” That hunger for God never left me, and neither did I have peace when I was doing my own thing. At the same time, I was continuously ill. God started pulling on me to get my life completely right with Him, and the more He pulled the more restless I became.”
After a few years of suffering and wrestling with God she started making deals with Him. During those years she could never forget those words she read in the New Testament when she was a little girl. Finally, she made a decision that would change her life forever.
It was then that she realized her wrestling with God was because of what she saw in the Church as a little girl, it was not what she wanted in her life as a Christian. Dr. Pat wanted more because she was surrounded by other Christians that were suffering physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially.
Revelation Time
Dr. Pat became serious about the Word of God to learn how to break curses and deal with the numerous hurts and pains that she and so many others were dealing with. She had a deeper desire to get closer to God so she could get to know Him for herself. As she would get on her face seeking, knocking, and asking, she found some things she had never known before. She found out one of the main reasons people suffer is because of a lack of knowledge.
One day, during her study time the Lord spoke to her and said, “My people are suffering and dying from spiritual malnutrition. They look healthy in the natural but they are dying in reality in the inside. The people are dying because they are not being fed properly. The food (Word) is being watered down and causing it to loose the true substance.”
Through many difficulties she learned how to seek God with an earnest heart for herself. During that time she entered into the school of God, where He taught her things that only He can teach. The things she learned they did not teach them in Seminary School.
As Dr. Pat continued to seek God, He taught her many things about the Word. She also learned about curses and how to break them. During one of many conversations she had with God, He revealed that her afflictions were passed down from her mother's side of the family. More importantly, God taught her how to break and get rid of that family weakness. She has been free since then!
Many Are Called But Few Are Chosen
Later, God called her to go forth and teach His people. He said, “I have made you a shepherd to lead the way. You are a vessel tried and true. I have chosen some to follow you. Show them the way and teach them the truth. I will provide for you as I did Ruth. It is time to soar on wings of eagles out the door. I will send you forth into new lands. Teach my people, go out and teach those who do not know me. Teach them as I have taught you.” It took some time after God spoke these and other words to her before she really started to go forth and teach the Gospel.
